The stock motors aren’t as bad as you think. I ran 11psi non intercooled with an eaton m112 blower for years with no issues on a std 5 litre. A good tune is what you need most of all.

Any updates on this? Throw some pics up to get the punters interested. Killa custom cables seems to get a lot of great reviews for lsx conversion looms too.

I got some 3.7s to suit m78 borgwarner diff for sale if you’re interested. They are surplus to my requirements as they aren’t suited to my new turbo combination.

also us aussie holden blokes get rapped on price of bits, part of being a small market i suppose .but who’d drive a ford or put a chev in an aussie classic. thats a joke people chilaxe…I’ll drive anything with grunt!! or ride ,so no harleys even the german ones, haha

hey mate, do you know the exact pricing for the new tp blocks?

Another Holden V8 “tragic” here!! I love the Holden motor more than any other! As previously mentioned in this thread and many others, LSX wins the bang for buck argument every time. I definitely appreciate the awesomeness we all know as LSX, but have found myself with a light hearted hatred towards the platform as every one thinks thinks that LSX is the only answer and that every other persons motivation is to go as fast as they can for as little dollars as possible. The fact that the aussie v8 costs twice as much to build and will usually make less power does nothing to deter me at all. It may be a bit of Australian pride or maybe that fight for the underdog feeling , or maybe even just plain stupidity? haha.

I think the saving grace for the holden motor these days is the fact they respond so well to a little boost blown up their skirt(as any engine does really), I remember Sam from Sams performance saying in an article i read about how quick the old iron motor can spool a turbo, reckons it had to do with the firing order and that there’s no other v8 like it! The new tp blocks are awesome and i cant wait to see the results they produce, its great there’s a company thats is still supporting the local platform and in turn, can be supported by the die hard holden v8 fans!!

Looks awesome mate. its amazing how keeping aesthetics nice and simple can make a car look so nice. A good stance and nice rims goes a long way. Black  mirrors is something different that doesn’t look bad either.

when I eventually race my ute with heads and 215/223 cam I’ll let u know how it goes. It it defiently feels faster on the street then my 12.2@114 VR. If if I can nail my shifts I honestly believe it will go 11’s.

What heads are on it CAV? any extra comp in there? id be interested to see the timeslip once you’ve been.

p.s Are you keeping the Holden v8 in the vr when you upgrade from the 304?

I have the Lunati Voodoo 237/242 similar to the Texas Speed. With the stall, I wouldn’t worry about a smaller cam as you’ll be in the powerband when you want to be. Mine was behind a T56 and was a dog off the line. 2sec+ 60ft times but crossing the line at 115mph. If it doesn’t sell, it will be a similar stall to that listed but with a 4speed auto.

Thanks for the reply TUFGMH. I take it your pistons didn’t require fly cutting? Did you shave the heads at all to raise compression? We really want to take advantage of some extra comp while having the heads off, just unsure of what we’ll get away with without flycutting. This is just a cheap little motor to get the car moving, will start to build a decent motor once this one is in and running.
