• Hi,

Have standard L98 engine with aftermarket cam in my VK with manual box. Cam specs are as follows

.050 duration- intake 233, exhaust 237. Lobe separation angle 112. Valve lift .550.  Not sure of brand of cam as it was in the engine when I got it. Has been dyno tuned with maf sensor. Makes 380 hp at wheels. Just after peoples opinions/…[Read more]

  • Hi,

Pretty sure that hole is there as a tell tale hole. If the diaphragm gets a hole in you get fuel coming out the hole. Should be sealed against oil getting in that far. Think there should be some sort of rubber seal arrangement near where it bolts to the block.

The charcoal canister I used suits a VN or VP I think. Has 3 pipes on. One from the engine purge valve, one from the tank vent and one goes to vent filter. I put the vent filter as high up as I could inside rear wheel arch attached to top of fuel filler tube.

Pics of fuel lines. The fuel line mounting brackets I used are off a VN commodore. Main reason I did this was not enough room to run them all in the original position and too close to the exhaust.

I made new hard lines for my VK with LS engine. Used 3/8 steel for fuel pressure and return also run one 5/16 steel line for charcoal cannister which I fitted at the rear above the axle housing. Run them from rear to across back of trans crossmember and then up into the trans tunnel (as VRsenator 065 has done). Hard lines finish above bell housing…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the replies. Yes info I am getting is they are just sikaflexed in. Quite thick bead as sit off the car body about 8 mm. Seem to sit in the plastic frame. I am thinking stick the window in the plastic external surround and then put the whole thing on a bead of sealant and screw the surround on. The plastic trim on the inside will cover…[Read more]

  • Yes. One straight thru 3 and 1/2 inch muffler and one straight thru 3 and 1/2 inch resonator and the two 2 and 1/2 inch high flow cats. It passed db test for rego o.k.

  • Hi,

Does anyone know how to refit these windows into the C pillar. Just had car painted and want to refit them. When I removed them they weren’t really fixed, just sitting there. Obviously been out before. Looks like just a large bead of sikaflex or something  was originally holding them in. Any advice be appreciated.

  • Yes have got some pics of the exhaust. Having trouble working out how to put pictures up. Will put some up when I work it out.

  • I see you have your fuel pump mounted up fairly high. Are you running a surge tank or a fuel cell in the boot? I have VK with L98. Have fuel pump (bosch 044) mounted lower and drop section welded into tank for fuel pick up, but still get it sucking air sometimes. Not sure which way to go. Dont want to run a fuel cell want to retain factory tank.

  • Hi, I will get some pics of my exhaust and put up for you in a couple of days. Harness looks real nice. I put my ECU in the windscreen wiper plenum and extended the plenum cover over it. Mine is the standard 6 litre E38 ecu which is a lot smaller than the earlier ones. Mine passed noise test fine with exhaust I have. If it is too loud you could…[Read more]

  • hi, Had standard M78 borgwarner 4 pinion lsd which sometimes would not lock up. Recently fitted harrop true trac centre. Works very well. Drive normally around corners etc and free wheels nicely. Put some power into it and always two wheels are locked together and spinning.

  • Hi, Probably me. I cut the corners off rear of the sump and had some ali pieces welded in. I did post some pics up. I think I added the pictures to one of your threads regarding LS install info.
