Update time guys,
Since last time I posted. The car sat in the shed as it developed a bottom end knock. So after saving money for a while finally got the engine rebuilt and tuned 285kw
Still trying to get the car fully sorted atm. Having problems with the 25% underdriven pully / Engine temps.
Will post dyna sheet/Engine specs later.

Hey mate. Been a while since I’ve been on here. Engine is looking great!
Just wondering how the steering is with the ls pump to vn style rack? Is it way too light?
Cheers.

VRsenator065- The PWR issue was quite disappointing, It never got hot but each time I drove it I would get a small puddle of coolant under the cap area. I contacted PWR told them about my problem and decided to try another cap.
After a few weeks with the same problem so I pressure tested the system to find it wasn’t holding pressure. At this s…[Read more]

Hey everyone,
Now 100% passed and Legal. Such a run around to get passed but it was all worth it.
TUFGMH – I have been looking around at the in tank pump setups and I think it is the way I will go in the end. simular to what you have done, this one was a red vh in street commodore last month

TUF GMH, I used the VT-VZ canister as well, due to it being a nicer shape to mount. I was thinking to putting it under the car, or under one of the guards. But the engineer wanted it as high was it could be. so I ended up mounting it in the boot. pretty much straight above the filter.
Still not quite through engineering yet, but the car is out of…[Read more]

Coming together mate, looks great.
sucks that you needed to cut the radiator support, I had the same problem with my pwr radiator, when I ordered mine it came with schematics, and I found it wasn’t within the specs. ( which made the rad sit lower, the fan contacted in the same spot as yours) sent it back, and now sits great.
As for the…[Read more]

Cheers for the replies and the positive comments guys!
Seat belts went in nicely, a mate ended up giving me a set and bolted straight in.
Didn’t make up the bash plate for the fuel tank. after measuring I found that I only needed to raise the rear of the car 2 cm to pass. So another easy fix.
So its all down to the exhaust, Yeah the problem i…[Read more]

hey guys,
Had the engineering inspection this week. unfortunately failed on a couple of small issues,
Few exhaust issues with lines to close (I thought if you can fit your finger in between it would be ok). I have since taken it back to the exhaust shop and the cant bend it anymore. So question is what is the best way to run the brake line to…[Read more]

hey all,
Long time with no update so I thought I would share were I am up to.
I have clocked up 400km since swapping engine. and I cant be happier that I decided to do the conversion, its a whole new car to drive!
First few things to mention so far,
3.9 diff gears for this conversion I believe is prefect, so many people say its too high and ju…[Read more]

Had quite a long discussion with the engineer today, And very happy with his work so far. mostly all general things too look out for while building a car to make the final inspection easier.
Cheers VRSenator065 for the info on the power steering lines. He was happy with the braid also so I will be doing very simular.
Cooling system now all…[Read more]

Another Update,
Exhaust done looks nice and neat. Went 2 1/2 inch pipe with three mufflers and Cats. (which I have now been told I do not need as my car is 83 model) pipes are over the diff and nicely out of the way. A few things I will change down the track but overall happy for now.
Cheers rayray07, Any pic of how your conversion is going?

Hey mate.
Just looking at your early posts. At your powersteering lines. As i am wonting to know about the braided lines you used. Are they normal -6 with stainless braid or special lines. Was there any restrictor needed. Was the engineer happy with it. Any help would be great. Cheers
