• OZ38 replied to the topic 308 Mech Fuel Pump Oil Leak ??? in the forum Fuel Systems 7 years ago

Yeah it would be good if the oil didn’t get down to it as easy as it does. I am imagining the oil gets flung off the timing chain & runs down the lever rod into that section with the hole in it. There is only the gasket between the fuel pump & engine block which leaves clearance for the lever to move up & down off the offset cam drive.

    We have…[Read more]

  • Looking to see if anyone on here can shed some light on a problem we are having with a mate 308 rebuild in his SLR Torana.

After firing it up we discovers a bad oil leak coming from a hole in the side of the Mechanical Fuel Pump. We found that taking the oil fill cap off stopped it (or so we thought). So mate took the two PCV hoses that joined…[Read more]

  • After finding the back of that 15 amp airbag fuse had a small pink wire after the fuse, I am wondering if anyone know where the end of it goes to seeing as my model also is not equipped with Airbags ?

Looked around over on the passengers side where other models have the airbag but can’t see and wire that looks like it comes from that fuse.…[Read more]

  • After checking the airbag fuse location, that is also the perfect option for me as well. Didn’t realise till I checked it also is fed the same as the other listed ignition fuses there. Mine also is a pre airbag model.

    Thank for that tip.

    Cheers

  • Looks awesome, just curious how it will go sealing with the torsional rock of the engine ?

    Cheers

  • That is what I was hoping you would say. I found the relay holder & fuse for power windows all have power. I also noticed the two rear doors have a wiring loom feeding into them. Could not think of any other reason apart from adding power windows. Stange the front doors don’t seem to have the same thick loom going to them though.

So thinking of grabbing power from the number 10 fuse, instruments etc. Will it matter that it is fused a only 7.5 amps for the Autometer gauges ignition source ?

Found other points for the earth & illumination of the gauges.

    Cheers

  • Ok so I am looking to test the fuses & see which ones get power when the ignition key is past the accesories on the reds ? That sound about right does it ?

    Cheers

  • Have to start a new topic here to help identify the best place to tap in to the VS V6 wiring for Autometer Gauges.

The one thing all the gauges need is a wire from Ignition. Is there an easy source to get this from on the VS V6 wiring ?

I think I have found a couple of wires I can use for illumination & common earthing.

    Cheers

  • While I am looking around the VS Exec manual consol.

Can anyone identify these two large plugs & what they are/were for ?

One has 6 pins the second has 7 pins. I am thinking maybe for power windows had they been optioned ?

    Cheers

  • I am looking for a good place to get power for the illumination of a 4 Autometer gauge set up I am fitting to the VS Commy.

The gauges all require a wire from Ignition source – Hopefully I can join all 4 required wires to a single source (yet to be identified).

As well as a common earth for all gauges.

Finally there is the illumination of the…[Read more]

Yeah it’s strange because this morning I go outside & the key remote opens & closes the doors just fine.

No issues. It worries me though that the BCM might be giving me a warning before it total shits the tin.

I have a VY V6 ute which until tonight has not given any bad electrical issues. Left work, travelled home (80 odd k’s). Hopped out & went to lock her up, but nothing happened, thought I must be pressing the wrong button or not hard enough. Kept trying but nothing would happen, no flash of lights, noises or clicks etc. Thought the keys battery must…[Read more]

  • No build thread yet. I should start one soon as I am getting close to putting the VS Commy off the road to add the mountain of parts I have compiled for it. Some that know me know it has been a very very long time coming or still coming lol.

I might try transferring stuff over from the other forum that looks to be almost dead now.

    Cheers

  • Yes sadly he will be missed with his always expert inputs. The guy could have his own site with his knowledge base.

  • So glad I found this Thread. I just picked up a (almost) full set of the HSV Devonish Seats & door cards for the VS Commy. I was wondering about those rear head rest brackets as the guy selling them just said “you’ll work it out it’s easy”.

The set was missing the rear passengers door card, so I’m hoping I can find a good auto trimmer in WA who…[Read more]

  • I believe FaceBook is the reason behind a lot of this. The L67Torque forum is very close to going under I think. It has been neglected by its majority of members since FaceBook got into building instant sites.

I was trying to prop up that Forum, but most people who come there now ask a question & don’t return for a reply. To happy to go to FB f…[Read more]
