It’s not something I’d try without a lot of research first, I to struggle with some of those plugs/leads, hence the thought to re-do some of those hard lines to move em further out of the way.

The basic VT-VY ABS system is a 3 channel system like the earlier VS, the flashier VT-VY system with traction control is a 4 channel system.  Been doing a little research but I think I need to find a brake specialist to get more advice.

other issue i think i found it the VT onwards ABS system run through the BCM, don’t think the VS did,

i have all the factory wiring diagrams, when i get more time i might look at it again

let me know if you get it to work

It’s a long term project this ABS thing, it’s an idea I’ve been toying with for a bit.

I moved mine down to where the battery is, def cleaned up the bay and makes it much easier to get to the plugs etc.  Not sure the change to the later ABS unit would be worth the effort?  I mean its not like you fire off the ABS all the time, and its not really a performance mod?

Yeah, that would be the ultimate solution.  I was thinking about the later model ABS pump in the factory location purely because it’s smaller and won’t require redoing all the main hard lines like would be required to move the whole unit like you did.

I’ve not really ever encountered a situation where the ABS unit triggered except intentionally

At the end of the day it must be there but that doesn’t mean we can’t try and minimise it’s intrusion into the engine bay.

Yea agreed, the early ones were pretty savage too in how they worked.

If you need ABS to complete life a 1/4mile at a time you would need to be special  :yahoo:

    Hey,

Not sure if you are aware but there seems to be an issue with the CRD throttle body on a DP style manifold with the IAC/ MAP sensor cavity been blocked off.

Check this thread for info http://www.aussiev8.com.au/holden-v8s/68922-vs-clubsport-304-full-rebuild.html#post718977 and how to fix.

yeah notice that when i was putting it together, i got around it by putting an aluminum spacer in which was about 2-3mm thick, which i needed anyway to space the throttle body and drop base air filter assembly up more to clear the fuel rails

car has had the run in tune done, and the tuner didn’t mention anything regarding that

i haven’t driven it in a few months and only done 65klm on the new driveline, really gotta get around to finishing running it in

how long do people recommend keeping the run in oil in it for? eg. 500k’s or 1000k’s or more?

Once the cam is run in and rings bedded, 30-45mins. Drop the oil and go for gold.
