Nice, clean, light and simple. Very neat

    Thanks!

I ended up using the Bumper Studs as the primary mounts then added a couple of 2mm Braces as it had a bit of flex to it all..

What’s the reason for radiator at the back of the car out of interest ? Probably missed it but I have been busy myself lol

W2A intercooler and Trans cooler, just taking some of the thermal load and weight off the front of the car.

    Such an epic build..

This should be posted to http://www.buildthreads.com for everyone to see. Unless it already has been posted.

    Thanks glad ya like it!

I think it’s getting enough exposure Carl :XD:

(clicked your link all I get is “Under Construction”)

    Today End!

Wow that turned into a longer day then planned…

Was just going to go out and fiddle with a few ideas I had overnight, I wanted to flip the Trans cooler so the fittings were on the bottom for a neater hose route and add a couple of gussets to the Cooler Mount and maybe make a bracket to hold the Reservoir for the W2A IC..

My backup compressor decided to eat it’s motor and as I had a heap of 2mm steel and 2.5mm aluminium to cut up I figured I’d cannibalise the primary that had died a few months back… (in truth they’ve both been laying down for about 5 years now as they’ve had hard lives) bzzzz fail couldn’t build one out of the two..

When I moved in here the Old guy had left his compressor here it’s an old 2 phase dinosaur that he’s plumbed into the entire shed with copper hardline, it’s a bit leaky and lazy and will only make 80 psi so I’ve never bothered using it, till today, it does however have really good pressure control electricals on it  so the plan that I’ve put off for 4 years now is to use both my 17CFM pumps and use the 2 phase motor to run them on a common mount, fix the leaks and it should all be good!

Flipping the cooler didn’t work out but I completed the other two jobs.

Thanks, still got a bit to do in there, need to mount the Surge Tank and Lift pump, plumb the fuel cell and a filler,  build the shroud, mount the Trans cooler fan that came in today, Bulkhead fittings for the trans cooler, make up the IC Hoses and mount the pump but it’s all getting there :whistle2:

    Link worked this time!

Yep all the major bits are done Gary, will need to break it all down and paint the interior soon before assembly :XD:

Do all the fans and other electricals put more than normal load on the system?  Do you need a bigger alternator to cope?

Yeah they do but there’s nothing else in the car so I’ll probably get away with it!

LOL I was running much the same electrical load in the Tonner and it managed ok, as you say no Doof and no AC this time so I think I’ll squeak by on the 140a Alt, if not I can get a 250 that’s a direct replacement.

All of the Fans and Pumps will be on controllers so it won’t have much of a current draw at low engine speeds and that’s where it usually turns to crap..

    Today End!

Spent the morning straightening the Fins in the PWR radiator, it lead a hard life in the Tonner and I wasn’t always as careful as I should’ve been given it’s $$$ value..

Mounted up the Coolers and I don’t think engine temp is going to ever be an issue!!

How did you go about mounting the coolers to the radiator?

How did you go about mounting the coolers to the radiator?

Plastic Zip cooler mounts, was going to make a frame to mount them to the radiator support but after reading the Mocal site and that an Airgap is bad I decided to go direct mount, had a few dramas when this engine was in the Tonner it used to get warm in Traffic, I just put it down to the Radiator>AC Condenser>Trans Cooler/Engine Oil cooler>Intercooler radiator stack…

The IC Rad had a bit of an air gap and was probably the cause of it in hindsight, was fine at high speeds so I added the Fans to it..

Why not, you only live once.  With your skills, maybe see if you can get hold of a half busted up one and do it up?  Said it before, this is going to be a weapon buddy, great engineering, crazy (good crazy) build :good:
