• Couldn’t help myself. Installed the aux input. Works awesome. Put it in the console so it’s next to the 12 volt power. Wouldn’t even know it’s not factory.

Phreddys work is so good. All neatly labeled. All put together very well.

It’s actually plastic. Just get’s really brittle after a while and falls off. Tape will work till I can cough up 50 bucks for new ones.

  • Every time I think to myself I need new wheels I go outside and doubt myself. No one has VF wheels unless there HSV. Just suit the car so well I think.

So chatting to Gary about my great bogan fixes when we came up with the idea of a thread. Mine is car related but doesn’t mean they all have to be.

Had a rattling sound in the VZ on the drivers door like it wasn’t shut properly. Nothing I did fixed it until I noticed there was plastic on the door striker on the other doors but not on the drivers…[Read more]

  • New stereo bits are here. Waiting on the modified head unit.

  • Woodgrain is staying purely because every 2nd person has either silver or piano black.

  • Oh yeah forgot to update this thread because no one replied I didn’t think I would bother.

Stereo is out to get modified by Phreddy. Found the woodgrain look over a factory sticker so yep it’s hydro dipped for sure. Given the age of the original owner I would say he got some one locally to do it.

PVC lasted less then a week before failure. Fun…[Read more]

  • Woo hoo. Power is one of things where if your not daily driving the car you tend to think you need more then you drive it and your like whoa ok don’t need anymore.

  • Every bit helps but as you say you probably wouldn’t notice it on the street. I would say the benefits in regards to longevity would be marginal as well given all the people running with 20 inch rims and such that seem to have no issues. On the track where you would be pushing hard would be a different story.

  • Yeah unfortunately the chrome strips went cloudy after less then a week so I took them off (by me I mean my wife spending 3 hours with prepsol) They did take paint off unfortunately but what can you do.

Air intake done. Now to wait for the Mafless loom with the air temp sensor. Smells real nice with it disconnected.

The only way you can tell…[Read more]

  • Oh don’t get me wrong I love it. Was just trying to remember everything as I was posting. Love the sound it makes or more doesn’t make. I don’t think I can ever get over the look on peoples faces in obnoxiously loud cars when I take off at WOT. Bit slow off the mark but once she’s moving it’s pretty quick. Went from the this to the clubby once and…[Read more]

  • Oh and I forgot I took the stupid chrome striping the first owner put on. Took off the V8 and Berlina badge off the back. Took off the V8 badge under the indicators to. It’s quiet enough to make you think the exhaust is probably factory and probably a V6 but once you give it some throttle you know for sure there’s a V8 under the…[Read more]

  • Replaced the drive and AC belt as I found the main drive belt was 2mm too short. No idea how that happens but anyway. AC belt was a bit past it’s prime to. Ripped out the MAF and put in a temporary bit of pipe. Got the temperature sensor loom on it’s way.

Was planning on getting extractors fitted but am happy with the power and sound it makes so…[Read more]

  • Got a eBay special mail order mafless tune done as well. Fitted up the Monaro cold air shroud and cut the 2nd hole. Can’t really feel much difference but I think that should be all the air this car needs. Not going OTR as I don’t like the look nor the maintenance.

Ran it  up on the dyno to make sure everything was good being an eBay special tune.

  • Fixing it up for roadworthy and fixing up the rust turned out to be quite expensive. Close to 3 grand on road made the purchase price suddenly seem not so good any more. 3 minutes after leaving the mechanics had an ABS fault which was traced back to wheel sensor fault. Cleaned them up and it seems to be good now. Brakes were still horrible so went…[Read more]

  • Copy and pasted from another site so hopefully it makes sense.

Was planning on taking the clubby off the road which never happened but bought this as a replacement. Probably paid a bit too much for it at $4500 but oh well. 2 owner car. 185k kms. Needs a roadworthy and rego but there’s some surface rust that needs taking care of first and a…[Read more]

  • Well not a lot to update on the old girl. Some one cut me off and I had to take evasive manoeuvres. Queue this lovely bit of damage. Wasn’t worth the time with insurance and such.

    Washed her at a stage.

Was seriously contemplating selling her as it barely gets driven and the wife and I are over all the dramas but after realising good…[Read more]

  • Auto. Found out it was shift kitted when we ran it up on the dyno and the guy commented how quick it was to change gears :p Glad we didn’t fork out money to get it done.

  • Few of you already know this car but for those that don’t. VS Clubsport. Fairly stock besides cam and inlet manifold swap. Makes around 200whp with more in it. Will probably be selling this for a VU Maloo soon.
