Sounds like it could be the IAC,if your still using it.Mine used to hunt up and down at lights all the time, major pain in the arse.I pulled it apart, cleaned and checked it was working but it could never react quick enough. This was with a 286 Hyd cam in the 304.Blocked mine off and just use the adj throttle blade for idle and ecu uses timing to compensate for any load.Works great and no more up and down idling.

Might be worth giving it a clean, could be sticking every so often.

At first i thought TPS but it would be playing up all the time.Mine needed re setting once when battery was dead for some time.

How much were the DMS coilover and shocks?

They are an Aussie made quality set up so there not cheap, but they are rebuildable/serviceable,have 50mm slider tubes and are independently adjustable for bump and rebound. Also allow  for camber change at base of coilover with eccentric bushes.

RRP $5,552.00     I paid $3,560.00 as they were having a 30% off promotion for being in business for 30 years.I think the xyz stuff is around $1,800.00,so about double for the DMS kit.

    Some pics.

How did you fit rear sway bar? As i didnt think utes came with them, my one does not have one. How long does the tank of meth injection last for? Want to charge my ute and keep twin throttles so going intercooler will be hard to do. Are you on vn ss i am sure i have seen this ute some place else

I thought all 2nd gen utes came with front and rear sway bars standard like mine.Looks like the ss utes never had a rear bar as GMH-304 said. Why Holden would delete it is beyond me.

How long a tank of water/meth lasts depends on how long your on boost for and where your activation point is,how much horsepower, number of nozzles. In other words variable lol. From memory i think your spraying 10% to 15% of fuel flow.My system sprays on demand through injector duty cycle.Once activated it will spray more w/m as fuel demand increases. The ute gave me the opportunity to mount a large tank for track days when usage is high and i don’t want to carry extra mix.

I went w/m over intercooler for a number of reasons but what i think will work for me,won’t be for others.

Yeh Slow that’s me on vn ss.

Sounds awsome, keen to see pics of tubs, still want to tub my ute. Pics of bay as well. Are you running an intercooler with charger?

The tubs are well worth the extra work.As you know there is not a lot of traction down the back.

In my opinion sway bars, true trac and wider rubber with tubs are a great combination.Power down out of corners is excellent. Before, i was always waiting for the back end to step out without much help from the right foot.

No intercooler.Running an Aquamist water/meth system.

Bought mine second hand but had been serviced by CAPA with new input bearings and shaft.Have only got it installed and running at idle as i need to fabricate ducting, install water/meth etc etc.Been on the back burner for a while due to other priorities.

Just want to say thats some insane  grunt out of the 355,would be a bloody handful no doubt.

I asked Scott the same question. He said run it loose as possible but tight enough so the belt can’t jump a tooth on the blower pulley.

Can’t help with intercooler install…not running one.Driver’s side wheel arch needed a little massage for the V1,big massage for the V7 to clear.Volute position can make it better or worse.

I’ve got 10.1 comp…but your 10.5 would be pushing the friendship.

Thanks for the welcome Slow,DK,Cava, Senator.

Some awesome aussie muscle cars here after a look at some builds.

I’m not into LS engines, but if i was that LSX 454 with ITB’s would be exactly what i’d have.Very well done.

Manta’s blown 355,some big power there.Might have to pick your brain as yours is close to what i’m looking at for the ute.Big tick for the manual too. Many more I’ve forgotten.

Now….to work out posting pictures and bring over spec list……..
