    Went out to the drag strip and ran 11.29 @ 126mph. 1.5 60′ and 7.2 1/8th also.

2 step helps HEAPS with launch and shifts, as does the new clutch :)

I am yet to weigh mine but last time I did in full street trim with less than 1/4 tank and no driver or subs it weighed 1880kg…

    so I was happy I did 12.3 @121mph on 205 stockies hahahaha.

Well that’s interesting. I have a time slip showing 482mph….

also, I’m curious how many people weigh their cars before going to race…

So I bought an NPC clutch. Should be here by end of next week. Then maybe I can test out the 2 step and get some good 60′ times

    Do you mean LPE units?

i bought the LNC-003 and the MSD.

i have read HEAPS of reviews on both, and couldn’t pick, so decided after a fuck around with LPE to buy the MSD one also.

I’ll probably just see which one works best for me and sell the other one.

so I ended up ordering both the MSD 8733 and the LPE made LNC-003 2 step modules.

should be here by end of next week, then I might plug them in one at a time and see which I feel works better.

also ordered more 3.5″ v-bands so I can make an entire exhaust system that is easy to take apart, seeing as I have next to no room where the dump pipe goes.

making it meet regulations for Red CentreNats in September…

I know it’s not what I need for what I’m expecting to make later, but I don’t expect to push much out of it till the end of the year.

i don’t have a problem with refurbing it now to last the rest of th year at what I’m making now, then get something better for more power later.

did it let go on a standing clutch drop? Or changing gears?

Part of the reason I want a 2 step is to have more power available lower in the rpm range, which means technicality less mass to control at launch, and smoother, less jolting shifts up gears to reduce issues with the box and clutch.

it sounds logical in my head anyway, but if anyone has some more info to discredit the logic I see, please share.

this clutch was still gripping awesome in 4th from standing starts on the road when the motor gave out, and that was on the clutch pad rivets…

LPE LNC-003 being ordered this afternoon, and new 15×5 front steel wheels for front runner tyres also being ordered.

then to pull the box out and send clutch off to get rebuilt, and then hopefully time to go back on the dyno before the next round of racing… B-)

I’d like to go an auto one day but I just wouldn’t enjoy it as much.

did a little driveway skid in 2nd gear and it still grips but doesn’t like to change and moves when going into gear :/

bought the the turbo from GCG.com.au

They had them cheap when I bought it then upped the price by a few hundred $

So ran at the strip again.

    managed to run 11.75 @ 126mph.

had a few 127mph passes also.

looks like I might need a new clutch now, then start tuning it a little to get some more power.

    fun times ;) :yahoo:

so I decided to get under the car and clean it up abit, then started to see where the leak might be actually coming from. now no leaks???

I tightened up the sump bolts a little so they may have just been under torqued to start with.

hope its all ok for the next race meeting on 17th may :)

From memory, I think my tuner said something about being able to have the throttle position activate something which can, but not sure 100%

i run both mine 100% so if there is an issue it shuts down without pressure. Saves risking it running on one and not coping well or leaning out.

I actually rather the manual. I know i’ll prob get better times etc with an auto but I don’t want to put an auto in it, at least not anytime soon anyway.

I really enjoy  driving a manual car so for me it makes it more fun.

and its still only on a run in tune basically so I am nowhere near the times it could run yet, as it isn’t caged yet either.

the wedding and honeymoon are killing the car budget so keeping it sedate and safe for a while till I can get some more bits and charge along.

although the 2 step will be here shortly so that will help with times and consistency ;-)

So sump gasket is leaking, only slightly from rear, or it is rear main seal, either way I’m not keen on doing it!

any tips for doing it the easy way? Or is it just an arse of a job…
