Successful Bendigo trip, got back and pulled the door trims off then hit em with some 180 on the DA to key them up for Etch Primer, I’ll paint them the same as the interior colour.

Having LOTS of Air is cool, also replaced the Filters in my respirator, I guess once every 15 years is good….. what a difference..

Waited till after lunch to go down to the shed,13c here today but I’ve found if the sun is out and I just open the man size door it heats up inside to 16c so perfect for painting!

Put the door trims in colour then scuffed all the bumpers down and hit them with some Etch Primer, scuffed and primed the brackets then gave em a coat of Satin Black.

The engine bay looks awesome today, the reason I use the Satin Black it hides all the bad and is really easy to repair if it gets scratched..

When I got the paint mixed I took a piece of bonnet with me to match, it was faded along with the roof and boot, the guy shot for half way between but it’s still a touch dark, “Because RaceCar” fuck it.. near enough..

Got the car down off the Hoist, in the light the Colour isn’t even close…

Off to Bendigo to see my other paint supplier and see if there’s anything they can do..

And Home, that went a little sideways, I unbolted the fuel door to take with me for the paint match, walked around the car checking it against the other panels… bzzz NO MATCH, I don’t think there are two panels on the entire car that are the same..

Next “Plan” was blow a coat over the whole car, on the way up I thought about how much work that’s going to be and decided I may as well go back to “Paint Plan A” which was to do the Body the same Herron White as the Tonner with the Satin Black bonnet and Black Flares, Splitter and Wing, got some primer surfacer and the paint so it’s all good..

I figure we won’t be racing for some time to come so I can do the Colour change at my own pace.

    M sport stripes….

Got a pic of what you mean?

Hadn’t really considered it as it’s NOT an M car… Thought it might be a bit wanky..

I was just thinking mainly white with the M stripes in some way, not over the top.

I like the E30 livery, just worried it’ll be hard to repair after the inevitable oops..

Yeah I know but I’ve always bagged on people that build clones… ;-)

Base colour painted white, use wrap for the colours.  Bingle it, peel that bit off and redo it.

I can rattle can someone race stripes and numbers on the vehicle for a small fee.

I also do ghost flames. That may or may not look like ghost flames.

Jokes aside I think being white with the Carbon details will look good. I still think a carbon wrap on the bonnet roof and boot will look minter

Agree the Carbon wrap would look cool but it’s not really a performance mod, trying to build this car 100% functional..
