what ball park are u thinking. A mate of mine has hinted his looking.

I want to go turbo eventually. Depends what your asking price is and wether I have the funds I doubt I could afford it atm. Just recently bought a new vf ssv redline, was very close to buy an ase kit but decided to get a new car instead.

I won’t take less than $6500 for it. Will come with everything except for silicone lines and turbo oil feed and drain. Because they depend on how you run the lines.

So full turbo kit including, full exhaust with two pairs of cats to swap over (one fake set), boost controller and 2 step.

Yeah they are a really nice car. My brother inlaw just bought a VFSS series 1 storm ute (idiot was too impatient I told him to wait a few more months for the 6.2), and it’s a really nice thing to drive. The interior craps all over anything holden has released in the past. You’ll love it :)

I do love it ,awesome car it handles well, brakes well.

Just needs an exhaust tune an otr so it sounds like it should

    it’s way to quiet atm.

On another note my parts turned up from summit racing so

I’m installing a new lsr 3 bolt cam 235/251  today should be cranky!

The LSR range have some really nice grinds. Should boogie with that. Does it need fly cuts?

There are gains to be had by removing the DUS intake and going APS air box.

Is there evidence to support this??? I find it hard to beleive (though certainly not impossible…) and would it make a difference at the track when you would likely run the DUS without a filter anyways? Sorry for the hijack

Yeah i wouldn’t change it anyway.

    1 i like the look.

2 while the air box may be similar on the dyno but at the track is what its designed for and it works very well. I also take the filter out as its worth 2 tenths.

On back to back runs on APS dyno I picked up 7rwkw. The filter element is simply to small as Luis said to me.

Made also evident by you 2tenths gain when removing it.

The surface area of their pod is much bigger. The Induction noise was also very notable under WOT.

IAT’s were monitored and they were lower. Heat soak was also a lot less

Not to mention IMO it looks a lot neater and more “STOCK” to the untrained eye.

Im not too concerned really and why bother for 7rwkw?

    Whats the airbox worth?

Was the test done with bonnet closed?

I know the filter is small but on takes few sec to remove it and my cars not exactly sleeper material under the bonnet.

It was notable driving around town which I think made for a worth wild gain.

Cost me $400. Sold my DUS for $450. Bonnet closed/open street and dyno.

If yours is mainly strip it’s prob not worth wild as u remove filter

2 tenths?? That’s alot?? I ran at calder without a filter, but admittedly i didn’t think it was worth that much. Has anyone done a dyno with/without the filter? Also at what stage of the build? I’m only pushing 245rwkw so i’d guess it wouldn’t make that big a difference, but higher power engines need more air, compounding the problem. This is the first time i’ve heard anyone knock the DUS for lack of airflow so i’m interested now…

Its the same with any otr remove the filter and gain 1-2 tenths.

Even my old vs gained 1 tenth by removing the panel filter.

Nothing wrong with the design but when chasing every tenth

most people pull the filter as its a restriction and tend to trap heat in.

I think at the strip the dus otr work very well without a filter.

On the street you wont even notice the difference, I haven’t.

8-10rwkw by removing the filter on the dyno.

    Making around 270rwkw

    Nice build!

Surprised you haven’t smashed a cv yet although autos/radials are more forgiving.

That cam has a decent split, should sound real good, I hope you dialed the cam in as every comp cam I’ve installed (3 of them) was either retard or advance at least a degree or 2.

+1 for the filter removal it makes a difference, just make sure you leave the otr on as removing it you can loose 7rwkw, I did a back to back test on the dyno, on 2 seperate cars, I guess it’s due to the airflow being disrupted by the radiator when otr is removed.

Keen to see how much mph goes up when you lean off when on nitrous.

I  dialled it in on 109 centreline needed -2 deg same as the 231/247 I had.

The cv’s seem to be ok but living on borrowed time with nitrous and

    I always carry a spare.

Got 3 fuel jets to try too.

Very keen to see how it goes with the fuel dialled in.

Hopefully ill report back soon with a few time slips.

Tuning is almost done, prob do a lil fine tuning at the track though.
