[VS] Orig stereo replacement that utilises steering wheel controls?

Surprisingly I’ve still got the original cassette deck with 10 CD stacker in the boot in my VS Senator.

Has anyone upgraded the stereo with a unit that utilises the steering wheel buttons? Any tips?

i don’t drive much, like triple j but like the sound of the motor person.. so somehow i’ve never got around to looking at replacing the stereo. recently the the screen back light has gone, so a little annoying at night. The 10 stacker still worked last time i tried, but it skips over bumps – assuming it did this even when it came out of the factory.

my VS doesnt run an airbag so i modified the clockspring from a VS with an Airbag and wired in a VX set of steering wheel control and a ran a PAC audio Adaptor to my Kenwood H/Unit

All Button work apart from the mode Button, the Module doesnt pick that up, but after not have any of them work for years, i can live with that
