Timing lights

just want to know what the difference between timing light, what do people suggest, i mainly need it to set the initial timing, im not sure what to look for or brand and price range

I was leaning towards something like this

That’s kind of in the middle of the price range, other similar brands are $150-$200 for the same type

i know there are some other basic timing lights for $30-$40 but they look very cheap and nasty

I’ve got an SP Tools with the dial back function. Nice bit of gear, wasn’t too bad on price, I think sub $200

I ended up buying the one in the link I posted above. Paid about $70 when I got, thought it was a pretty decent unit. Done what I needed which was to setup base timing
