So currently piecing together everything I need for a big brake kit install on my 06 VZ Senator.

Now I’m the install instructions it states that the 04 brake lines are longer than the 05/06, these introductions were written based on US GTO’s.

Does anyone know if it’s the same here with our cars? I believe the 04 GTOs had standard Commodore brake setup, and the 05-06 GTOs got the HSV / SSZ style set up.

Probably a bit of a long shot. As it wouldn’t be a common issue that’s for sure lol.

I think you’re right about the similarity between the brake setups between US to AUS. The 05/06 GTO was fitted with an LS2 the same as the VZ HSVs which would warrant the slightly larger brakes.

I’d look into some braided lines though if you were to try and source some VY lines. Even if you aren’t planning on pushing it hard, nothing better than a little overkill. lol. Especially when fitting those massive CTSV brakes I seen that you got in your build thread.

I’m actually pretty keen to see how it turns out as I’ve been looking at the kit for a while but can’t seem to commit to getting them for some reason. Maybe due to the fact that wheel choice would be limited due to calliper clearance.

Cheers mate, will be going braided just need to know if I should buy them for a 04 or 06 as I need the extra length. Might just contact a brake specialist and ask what fits the bill.

Just call/email Matt at Race Brakes Sydney. In my experience, he’s cheaper than Perth prices even with freight
