I ran a Dominator in mine when it was in the Tonner, it was very loose slippy and not a lot of fun in a road car, that and only having a single Lockup plate you couldn’t lock it up under WOT, sold it and bought my Multiplate Circle D, spoke with Chris the owner and gave him the specs and intended use and he changed the Stator in it to suit, what a difference!

Drives like a normal car at low throttle percentages but stalls up when you get on it and the lockup feels like pulling another gear!

It needed a Cut and Clean after one of the many Trans explosions recently and I had it done locally instead of shipping it back to the States.

K Frame has come back from the powder coaters, I LOVE powder coating for under body suspension stuff, so tough and looks awesome, just wipe it down and it looks perfect.  Also see that Jenvey now sells nice manifolding for map sensor, so thought its something I can simply and neaten up, and it removes the block I did on the firewall making it easier to get to the col packs and leads.  The big black block I used as I was running brake vacuum, IAC etc etc, now its map only, so should be good.  Also designed a nicer custom vac bleed screw that a mate is making 8 up for me.

No, the new one is much flatter and will sit under the manifold.  Then its easier to route the pipes as its sort of laid out like the manifold.  The black one was a single plenum that I tapped off the end for, and is actually quite chunky, (prob doesn’t look it from the pics) so I had to mount it to the firewall, and so the tube lengths aren’t equal, which according to Jenvey is not ideal.

The vac bleed screws into the manifold and protrude and draw/measure a vacuum from the air speed.  They didn’t exist for Jenvey when I did mine so I used 1/8″ bspp right angle brass fitting (in this pic) but they dont protrude into the manifold/air flow, so dont give as consistent vac pressure reading, so thought I might as well make it micky mouse.

Now I get you. Will a straight barb cause an issue? Wouldn’t it impede air flow if it’s in the runners.

Got all the front sub frame back together today, looks nice and schmick again.  Got a progress pic of the porting but he has asked not to post them up until he is happy and has finished it.  Gave the headers a bit of a clean up, did some internet searching and seems this stuff is the go to get them shiny again but I cant see anywhere in Oz to get it.  Anyone had any luck with polishing up ceramic coated headers before?

I’d just take em back to where I had em done, they’ll chuck em back in the Ball Burnisher for an hour and they’ll be like new.

Get them done after the tune is finalised. Otherwise they will tarnish again during the tuning process.

Just called them, they think the tarnishing up closer to the heads (the bit you see coincidentally) has been heat effected by the tune and wont most likely come up glossy even if they redo them.  What he suggested was just getting the outside redone, which as about half the cost, then they will look literally like new.  I reckon I will do that, so plan is get it all built and sorted/tuned on the engine dyno, then when its all done drop the pipes off to them.  Cheers boys.
