Was wondering what happened to this, such a clean ride, any plans for some new rims? :)

A bit of a useless update, seeing as nothing has happened with the old girl in a few months due to getting married and being lazy. It’s been in hibernation, nearly sold it then came to my senses.

I’m now getting back on track, I was going to have her resprayed but I think for now I’ll just run with the original paint as its really not that bad considering its 36 years old, just a few new exterior trim pieces etc to really tidy it up. I may do something with the wheels, I have the SL/E rims which I want to have powder coated, cant decide on a colour tho… any suggestions?

The goal at the moment is to get it mechanically spot on, it’s not far off but a little bit to do.

Still has a wicked oil leak, pretty sure it’s the same spot Garrett had issues with, needs new tie rod ends and gonna do ball joints too, still going to do a brake upgrade, I’m happy with how it sits and rides so I’ll leave the suspension alone for now.

I want to do something different with the engine, I like the idea of a high comp efi 253, A Holley Avenger efi kit would be good.

They can have my V8 when they pry it from my cold dead hands.

Why not use a 304 ecu and injector set up? Nice and easy..

The bananas are pretty ugly, I like the idea of a tidy tbi setup.

You can use the Injection from the ban and in your current manifold, you have a performer from memory? Odds are the injector holes are there just not drilled out..

Me too, I realised there really aren’t many out there in the same (close to original) rust free condition, I’d be silly to get rid of it.

It’s back on the road after sitting in my garage for the last year, took it for a decent cruise today, didn’t miss a beat

    Nice SLE.

Don’t sell it. I made that mistake a few years ago when I sold my shadowtone VH. I ended up buying another VH SLE a few months ago and even though I don’t drive it much, it’s nice knowing it’s sitting in the garage if I ever wanted to drive it.

I’ll be pulling the 253 out of my car eventually and running an injected 304 like I have in my shadowtone. Easy conversion and a mean sound to it. I like the carby look too instead of the banana manifold, that’s why I’ll also end up running a carby look manifold.

Funny looking VH bay haha ^^

I was toying with the idea of injection only for fuel economy but seeing as it’s a weekend cruiser I won’t bother with it. Just gonna enjoy her how she is and tidy it right up cosmetically.
