LMAO you use them to slow the pump down at lower RPM when full flow isn’t needed, this serves a couple of purposes,

1: It shuts the noisy annoying pumps up at idle and cruise.

2: At low engine speeds the injectors are barely open so you’re returning a lot of fuel to the tank after running it through the hot engine bay, a pump controller lessens the heatsoak, my Old Supra after about an hour at cruise you couldn’t hold your hand on the tank it was that hot.

3: If you run multiple High Pressure pumps you can stage the 2nd pump so it come up to speed at a higher rpm so you don’t get a spike in fuel delivery, this just makes the tune a little bit nicer.

4: You can run the lift pump with the 2nd controller so again at cruise/idle it’s doing less unneeded work.

5: If you run big injectors you can PWM the pump below the normal base pressure set by the regulator this lets you dial in some more pulse width to get a nice stable controlled idle without losing Injector capacity when it’s needed up top!

No there’s no PWM control in most of the common ECU’s Cav that’s why I went this route, the race car only runs for a minute per lap and it’s loud as so it’s a non issue running the pumps full time..
